It was really a guy named Hank Gilman, who was an editor at Fortune at the time. I can't take credit for the idea, per se, I can take credit for the execution of it a little bit. Yeah, well, thanks very much, again, for having me Russell and thank you for recognizing my online column back then, it was called Street Life. When did it start? How did you come up with the idea? I don't think anyone even used the word blog back then when it first started, I think your newsletter probably predated it. Right? Let's start with the newsletter, the blog, take me through the history. So, where should we begin? Let's, I think we, let's start with loose change. Here now is Andy Serwer on Press Profiles. That was the final catch all section in his blog way back when – lots of loose change. We'll talk about Yahoo, his favorite stories at Fortune, Maryland lacrosse and other sports, where Yahoo is today, where it's going, and a bunch of other fun stuff, what Andy likes to call loose change. After an almost 30-year run at Fortune, Andy made the leap to Yahoo Finance, where he helps lead and direct their ubiquitous coverage of what's going on in the business and finance world each and every day. It was basically the precursor to all those various newsletters that fill up your email box on a daily basis. He was at Fortune magazine at the time, it was fun, fast, witty, and almost everyone on the street read it. The man, who back in the mid-1990s, created what was probably the first finance business blog. Today, we're joined by Andy Serwer, the editor in chief of Yahoo Finance. We'll talk about how they got into reporting, some of their favorite stories, their take on the industry today, joys, frustrations, and a whole lot more. These are the people used to asking the questions, now they're answering them. Hello again, everyone, this is Russell Sherman, and you are listening to Press Profiles where we turn the tables on some of the top business reporters and editors in the industry.
